D&T Imagineers:
Promoting D&T outside of school hours

There's a plethora of options for extended out-of-school hours provision, but we offer something unique. How about providing the opportunity for hands-on engagement in a D&T Imagineers after-school club?

D&T Imagineers features project-based activities usually spanning 6 weeks. Throughout this duration, children will delve into the entire design cycle, from conceptualising their product to crafting it using a variety of tools and materials, and ultimately evaluating their work.

Led by Richard Brown, an experienced primary school teacher with a B.Ed in Primary D&T and an M.Ed. in Primary Education (with a focus on D&T), our in-person after-school clubs ensure a rich learning experience. Rich is DBS checked, fully trained paediatric first aid trained and all club activities adhere to rigorous risk assessments.

Here's some key information about DTLearn after-school clubs:
- Projects run for usually 6 weeks, requiring consistent attendance for project completion.
- Children engage in the complete design cycle, from initial concept to testing and evaluation.
- A minimum of 12 children is required for a club to run, with a maximum class size of 20.
- We can organise an assembly to introduce the club to your children at a convenient time.
- Currently, our services are available only to schools within a 10-mile radius of the CB24 postcode due to limited availability.

Testimonials

Imagineers has been a wonderful club for my daughter. The terms and sessions are well structured and carefully planned, and communication is fantastic. I love that children got to share their creations with families at the end of term, that's a really lovely touch.

The club has had an excellent variety of fun activities that have been really engaging and also educational. The children are well supported by Richard to bring their own design ideas to life. We also love the showcase at the end of each project to see all the children's work.

[My child] is really enjoying your sessions and is always very excited and happy when he returns home - it’s a fantastic way to channel his constant motivation to build and create - we’re so thankful that your club arrived at MRPS.

Brilliant club. They have a fantastic time every week. Great ideas for projects each term - they sound ambitious but are achievable by the children, in a way which makes them very proud of themselves. It has really helped them with planning something and then putting it into practice, having to think of what resources they need to do a task, doing something within a timeframe. They absolutely love the club.
